I am just about recovering from my mad trip to the West Coast, having slept at 5am for the last 5 nights in Las Vegas and LA. The trip was a blast; 5 days in LA visiting touristy sites, another 3 in Vegas hitting the clubs and casinos, and the last night back in LA before our flight home - for which I owe a special shout out to my dear Kamil who brought me out for a brilliant night.
Here is a preview of the photos - when I collect pictures from all the photographers, I'll grace the pages of my gallery with a full feast.
For now -

I have to make a guilty confession that although I've had the internet for some days, I've been perpetually lazy to post! Vegas currently beckons to me, with its lacquered roulette tables and gradiose hotels, shiny poolsides and sexy clubs. Last night was spent at PURE at Caesar's Palace, the best club in Las Vegas by a far consensus, and it didn't disappoint. Seamlessly mixed music - the blister-inducing sort - and some of the most beautiful people in America. An apple martini, an open air roof overlooking Vegas lights. Lots of unwanted conversations; but nevertheless, a truly surreal experience.
Now I'm packing up my things to go to LA as I'm flying off from LAX tomorrow. Details of the trip and photos to come!

Check out this video of a
Japanese fear-factor type show, where they eat wasabi and get slapped by a slapping machine. Sounds standard? The funny part is that everything happens in the library, so no one can scream or cry. And there's this random black dude in the whole lot of Japanese guys who seems to be loving it.
Gotta love the Japanese.

2 exams down, 1 to go on Tuesday, which would explain why I've been MIA for a while. On top of that, Monsieur has been down for the week lending me valuable and much-cherished support, and soon this will all be over and all my plans can kick swiftly into action, starting with Los Angeles.
A quick run down of the last few days:
Studying at the students' union -

getting slowly but surely into World Cup fever -

chilling out at clifton, my favourite neighbourhood bar -

and indulging after the second paper in the Great English Barbeque, which is just summertime magic! -

Anyone want to buy me an
early christmas present?
P.S. it's so sad how I cannot live without designer sunglasses. That is one concession my bestial materialistic side cannot seem to make.

A teenager was
sexually assaulted on Friday morning in my neighbourhood, on the street I lived on in my first year. In the morning!! And this is meant to be the safest part of Bristol. Imagine that.
So, no more walking along the dodgy lanes of Clifton, especially Hanover Lane which has enough dark corners to hide a whole squad of molesters.
The weather has been beautiful here, painfully beautiful, and I've been stuck revising all day long. I start the day walking through the Village, and since it was saturday people were out strutting their stuff with babies strapped to their backs; then I got to Victoria park and students whose exams were over were tanning and eating strawberries; further down, people were shopping on Queen's Road and heading to the city centre; outside Brown's, people gather and sit on the steps licking ice cream and drinking iced tea with their boyfriends and girlfriends -
and just 10 metres down from that, I enter the Wills Memorial Building for my day of drudgery in the miserable ol' library, which is half empty 'cos most people are done with exams. I wanted to cry!
I'd like to moan somemore, but unfortunately, I have work to do. Adios.
